The White Scars have quickly become my favourite Space Marine chapter. The Lore behind their Primarch and stories found in the book Masters of the Hunt make them exciting to imagine. I have a soft spot for the little guys and whilst Space Marines themselves aren't the little guys, I feel like the White Scars are the little guys of the Space Marine chapters.
So far my completed units comprise of a Captain, infiltrators and a lieutenant. This means I got the combat patrol box set and a regular captain with some little White Scars extras added to him so he was less Ultramarine-ish.
These aren't my first marines though. Even the Grey Knights were done after I started these guys. My first rendition was a go at Salamanders using contrast paints. This attempt will purely be a Primaris attempt. I have studied videos from the Warhammer Community on how to paint white and have used this opportunity to develop my painting experience further. I have been really taking my time on these guys which is different from my usual mentality of "I'm not trying for Golden Demon, I just want something presentable for the table top". While again not Golden Demon calibre I have just been trying to make them neat.
For the Infiltrators, I spent time researching how to paint camo cloaks which would work effectively to hide the white armour of the Marines. I decided on the urban look from this Warhammer How To Paint Video.
El Capitan was fun to see how I could improve on my cloak painting which if you compare it to my Skaven from this post looks a lot cleaner in colour transition. I followed another How To Paint video from the Warhammer YouTube site.
I still have much to do for the White Scars and have nearly finished a unit of suppressors for them from the combat patrol box too. They have inspired a pretty flex Kill Team that I have nearly finished developing as well which hopefully I'll have up by the end of the week.
I also realised I need to dust these guys before I take photos next time...
